Songbird Britney Spears Has Breast Implants -- At Age 17
Top doc warns: She's way too young
Now that singing sensation Britney Spears has become a big star
with a chart-topping hit, she's become even bigger -- by getting
breast implants at the tender age of 17! The young star recently
did a figure-baring photo shoot for Rolling Stone magazine that
showed off her surgically enhanced charms and set off a firestorm
of controversy over her new image as a sex symbol. Beverly Hills
plastic surgeon Dr. Randal Haworth told The ENQUIRER that considering
her age, the breast augmentation is a mistake. He called Britney
"a child. And children have no reason to be thinking about breast
implants." But Palm Beach plastic surgeon Dr. Jerome Craft told
The ENQUIRER that the procedure can be a psychological boost for
girls as young as 16.
Britney burst onto the music scene just months ago with her
debut album ". . . Baby One More Time." Both the album and
the title song shot to No. 1 on the charts, the first time
that's happened since rappers Kris Kross did it in 1992. And
with her newfound fame, Britney is shedding the little-girl
image she had as a Mousketeer on the now-canceled TV revival
of the Mickey Mouse Club.
FAST FACTS: Britney made her TV debut on Ed McMahon's "Star
Search" in 1989 -- at the age of 8. In the video she made
for ". . . Baby One More Time," Britney wore a naughty parochial-
school uniform -- an unbuttoned white shirt, sexy black bra
and a hiked-up gray miniskirt. And her photos in Rolling Stone
were so revealing that Nestle is reportedly reconsidering
its sponsorship of her concert tour, saying she no longer
fit the wholesome image the company wanted. Britney's representative
at Jive Records would neither confirm nor deny if the singer
had her bosom amplified. But the rep added the teen queen
"really doesn't think there's anything wrong with it." And
during a recent photo session Britney "started to brag about
her breast implants," said a source. "She was very, very proud
of them."
